The budget division prepares revenue projections for city revenue sources based on revenue trends, demographics and current economic conditions, as well as changes in industrial and commercial activities in the community.

City departments present budget requests for functions or services offered.  Functions and services compete directly with new program requests during the budget evaluation process.

After base expenditures are calculated and budget requests are summarized, the City budget is balanced by identifying which new programs and current services will be funded.
