The Land Use Hearing Examiner holds hearings regarding all land-use permits that require a public hearing. The Hearing Examiner reviews the city staff report provided on an application, takes testimony on the application and issues a decision on the land use application.

The Hearing Examiner also holds appeal hearings and issues decisions on SEPA environmental determinations and administrative land use decisions by city staff.
