Function
Seven park commissioners and a liaison from the City Council meet monthly to discuss ideas for parks, playgrounds, golf courses, recreational programs and rental facilities.

In its advisory capacity, the Park Commission considers a wide-range of issues at its meetings. Items of interest include master plan status of various parks, capital funding projects, riverfront and shoreline access and park maintenance funding. Many other topics come up for discussion as residents bring their ideas and matters of interest before the commission.
