Violation: Theft/Criminal Mischief

An officer contacted the owner of kiddie rides who said someone attempted to drill the lock used to secure the money container on a ride.  This was the second incident in several days.  Damage to the lock and money stolen was approximately $75.00.

Violation: Fraud

The male victim provided the officer with bank statements showing debits and checks written that he did not make.  The initial incident occurred approximately a month ago and continues to occur.  He believes the bank sent out a debit card and checks to his address which someone intercepted and began withdrawing funds from his bank account.  He believes the dollar amount of withdrawals is close to $20,000.00 from his account.

Violation: Theft

The female victim reported theft of her property.  She said she moved to another state and others she knew helped her pack her belongings.  She put her belongings in storage at her new location.  Several months later, she moved back to town and slowly began to unpack her boxes.  She discovered belongings valued in excess of $30,000.00 were missing.  The moving and storage firm said the boxes had not been opened when they arrived at the storage facility or while stored there.  She believes her belongings were taken and never packed.

Violation: Warrant Service/Suspicious Circumstance

The officer observed a male suspect with his arms and head inside a clothing donation bin.  It appeared he was trying to reach items inside the bin to presumably take them.  The officer contacted the suspect and he admitted he was trying to remove clothing from the bin.  The suspect returned with a warrant for his arrest so he was taken into custody.  At the time of contact, he was in possession of a bicycle.  When asked, he said he wanted the bicycle left next to the donation bin.  The officer said it would likely be stolen and the suspect seemed unconcerned.  The officer suspected the bicycle was stolen and put the bicycle into evidence for safekeeping.  He was transported to the county jail and booked on the warrant.

The female victim said her credit card had a charge in the amount of $668.81 for a computer she did not purchase.  The business who sold the computer gave her a zip code where the computer was delivered and asked her to file a police report so they could investigate the incident.

An officer was dispatched to a restaurant regarding a theft.  The male victim said he parked his motorcycle near some others and when he returned, he noticed two saddle bags were missing from the rear of his bike.  The victim said approximately $1,100.00 worth of property including the saddle bags was taken.

An officer was dispatched to a report of a vehicle prowl.  The male complainant said someone had gone through his car and taken his prescription medication.  The car was unlocked.  The large quantity of medications was valued at $50.00.

Violation: Theft/Runaway Return

An officer responded to the report of a shoplifter in custody.  The call indicated store security had been physical with the shoplifter and the shoplifter was complaining of chest pains.  Everett Fire was en-route.  Upon arrival, the officer was advised the male juvenile suspect drank a bottle of cough syrup and concealed another bottle on his person.  He left he store without paying and was contacted outside by store security.  Value of the two bottles of cough syrup was $22.58.  Everett Fire was treating the suspect who appeared very intoxicated and complaining that he could not feel his legs.  He was transported to the hosiptal.  The officer was advised the suspect was a runaway so the proper authority was notified of his whereabouts.

Violation: Trespass Warning

An officer was dispatched to a business regarding a complaint of a male suspect panhandling in front of the business and harassing customers.  The officer met with the complainant who said he had asked the suspect not to harass his customers and to stop panhandling in front of the business.  The officer contacted the suspect and identified him.  The suspect was trespassed from the property and advised that if he returns, he would be arrested for trespassing.  The suspect said he understood.

The male victim received a call from his bank regarding suspicious activity on his debit card.  He was told his credit card had been used for a $339.10 purchase in South Korea.  The victim does not know how or when his card number was compromised.  The card was destroyed and account cancelled when advised of the fraudulent activity.

Violation: Forgery

The male victim was encouraged to file a police report by his bank.  The victim met a female online and fell in love with her.  He told her about his financial problems and she volunteered to send him some money to help him.  He gave her his bank routing number so she could wire the check to him.  The $3,200.00 check was received by the bank via the night drop box and was not from the female suspect.  The victim was supposed to pay his bills and send the female suspect any money that was left over and she would use that money to come visit him.  The victim paid his bills and used up all of the money.  The bank notified the victim that his account was overdrawn and the check was a forgery.  He owes the bank $3,200.00 that he does not have.  The officer explanied to the victim that this was a scam and it was his responsibility to make sure the check clears before using the funds.  The police will not investigate the fraud because it happened over the internet.

Violation: Suspicious Circumstances

While on patrol, an officer observed a group of people running behind a building.  As the officer drove behind the building, a male waived him down and said he was being chased by unknown males over a midunderstanding.  The man said he was riding on a bus and had a conversation with two juvenile females.  He exited the bus near his home and the females exited at the same stop.  The man followed the two girls attempting to engage them in further conversation on his way home.  The females said the male had followed them but did not speak to them or touch them.  They were released to friends for a ride home.  The male was warned that his behavior could be misconstrued as stalking and he said he realized this after the fact.

An officer was flagged down by a male complainant who said he found some items thrown under some bushes adjacent to a business parking lot.  The items included an ornate wooden bowl set, Christmas ornaments, an assortment of mail, and a circuit board.  The officer discarded the circuit board as it was broken and water logged.  The other items were impounded as found property.

Violation: Identity Theft

The female complainant said an unknown female suspect wrote two checks on her bank account and cashed them at at tavern.  The victim found there were two checks which were out of sequence with her check numbers and her bank gave her copies of the checks.  The checks had her old address on them.  The two checks totalled $45.00.  The victim wwent to the tavern and the bartender remembered taking the checks and knows the person who passed them.  The bartender said she would call 911 if the suspect returned to the tavern.

Violation: Assist Other Agency - K9 Application

An Everett K9 Unit was dispatched to assist the county Sheriff's Department locate a male suspect who had fled on foot from an incident.  The Sheriff's Department had probably cause to arrest the male as the result of the incident.  The K9 dog tracked the man to an area near a river bank.  As the officer shined his flashlight, the male stood up out of the brush and put his hands up.  He was taken into custody without indicent and identified as the suspect.  The dog did not have contact with the suspect.

Violation: Theft/SOAP Violation

An officer responded on the report of a female shoplifter in custody.  The female suspect selected multiple pairs of bathing suit tops and bottoms, concealed them in her purse and entered the ladies restroom.  A female loss prevention officer followed the suspect into the restroom.  The suspect put the bathing suits on under her street clothes and left the restroom.  She proceeded to the exit without paying for the concealed merchandise.  She was contacted by loss prevention and escorted back inside the store.  The officer determined the suspect had an active SOAP (Stay Out Area Of Prostitution)order which included the area where she was detained.  The suspect told the EPD officer she had the bathing suits on under her clothing and the officer said the jail staff would remove the concealed items.  She said she didn't enter the store with the intent to steal anything but when she saw some items she liked, she decided to steal them.  She was booked in the county jail for theft and the SOAP order violation.  The stolen merchandise worth $120.00 was recovered.

An officer responded for a report of a 5 year old child who was bitten by a neighbor's dog.  The boy's mother said her son had been playing in the back yard of an apartment complex and the small dog from another unit bit her son on the leg.  The bite did not appear to have broken the skin.  The mother said she has asked the owner to keep the dog on a leash.  The owner of the dog said his dog is not normally aggressive but children taunt his dog.  The owner was holding the dog while talking with the officer and the dog was continually growling at the officer.  The owner was advised to keep his dog contained to his own yard.

Violation: Disorderly Conduct

911 received three separate calls regarding a male throwing items at vehicles traveling on SR 526.  As an officer arrived, a male suspect darted out of the bushes, gave the officer an obscene gesture and threw a bunch of papers at the patrol car.  The male suspect was placed into custody.  The male was extremely intoxicated and beligerent.  He requested that the officer give him a ride to his home in another city.  The officer contacted two of the reporting parties who said they had to swerve to avoid hitting the suspect and that he had thrown objects at their vehicles but there was no significant damage.  The suspect voluntairly provided a breath sample and the sample registered that he was almost twice over the legal limit.  He was booked in the county jail for disorderly conduct.

The male victim went inside a fitness center to work out.  When he returned to his vehicle, he found the passenger side window broken.  His wallet was still in his center console and two suitcases in the back seat were untouched.  It appeared the suspect(s) may have been scared off before they could steal his belongings.  Estimated cost to repair the window is $200.00.

The female victim said she left her car in a theater parking lot.  She returned to find her passenger window broken and a bag containing a laptop, portable hard drive, papers and her checkbook missing.  While she was writing her statement, she received a call from an anonymous citizen saying they found her checkbook in their front yard.  Value of the stolen items was approximately $2,275.00.

The male victim said his wallet was stolen from his rear pants pocket while he was at a park.  He looked for his wallet at the park but could not find it.  The wallet contained cash, driver's license, store cards and a debit card.  He was provided a book on identify theft.

Violation: Warrant Service

An officer responded for a traffic hazard.  Reportedly, an intoxicated male was pushing a passenger car.  The officer located a vehicle fitting the description pulled into a service station.  A male was leaning under the hood of the car.  The officer asked for his identification and a check thru dispatch determined the suspect had a warrant for his arrest from another city.  The officer made arrangements with an officer from that city to facilitate a transfer.  The other officer took custody of the suspect.

An asset protection employee observed a female suspect who had a large shopping cart full of school supplies.  The suspect took an empty stack of shopping bags from the cart and started putting the merchandise in the bags.  When the bags were full of the merchandise, she went to other departments and selected additional items and put them in the cart.  She exited the store with the stolen merchandise.  The $312.16 in stolen merchandise was recovered and the female suspect will have charges referred to the prosecutor.

Violation: Interference with Property

While on patrol, an officer observed a group of three people knocking over tall orange traffic cones that had lights attached to the tops.  The cones had been set up around the corners of an intersection to prevent pedestrians from walking into construction that was taking place on the corners.  The officer contacted the three suspects and told them to pick up the cones and signs.  They complied.  It became apparent to the officer that they were intoxicated.  The officer asked for identification.  One of the suspects said, "This is petty".  He was charged and booked on Interference with Property.  The other two suspects were warned and released.

The female complainant said she noticed fraudulent activity on her bank account.  The charges totaled $633.04 not including the overdraft charges she was charged by her bank.  Her bank statement showed the purchases were made from a website in the United Kingdom.  the victim said she did not make the purchases or give anyhone permission to make the purchases on her account.  Her account was closed by her bank.

The male complainant said he is in the process of refinancing his home.  The bank told him there are three people all using his social security number.  One of the persons is an acquaintance from several years ago who is living in the city.  The second person lives in Texas and is unknown to the victim.  The victim was provided information regarding identity theft.

An officer responded on a found property complaint.  A business employee found property on a dumpster located on their property.  Items included multiple cellular earbuds, chargers and cases.  An owner (owners) could not be determined so the items were impounded.

An officer was investigating a trespass complaint and discovered several backpacks and loose clothing that had been abandoned.  The officer collected the items for safekeeping.  While at the property room, the officer located identification in the abandoned property.  The officer was contacted by the persons whose identification was found in the property.  They were advised on the procedure for collecting their property.

An officer responded for a report of a found child.  An unknown four year old boy had been at the complainant's residence for several hours and had also been there the day before.  The officer met with the complainant and the boy who identified himself.  The complainant said she does not know the boy and no one seemed to notice that he had been missing twice in the last two days.  The boy told the officer he knew where he lived and pointed to a nearby street.  The officer drove the boy down the street until he pointed out his house which was a block away from where he was located.  The officer contacted the boy's mother who said she had given the boy permission to play in the alley and at the house next door but was not aware he had gone a block away.  The boy appeared to be in good health and was dressed appropriately.  The officer reminded him to only play where his mother tells him he can play and warned him not to wander off.  The boy said he understood.  The mother agreed she needed to take more care in keeping track of her son.

An officer noticed an open door and heard an audible alarm at a business.  Thinking the business may have been burglarized, the officer called for another unit.  The officers saw a male laying on a table inside in a sleeping bag.  The suspect was placed in handcuffs while the business was searched.  The suspect said he worked there and had given permission to stay there on occasion.  The officers were unable to reach the owner.  The suspect showed the officers the key he used to enter and knew the boss's name and phone number.  A check of the suspect's identity returned with four warrants for his arrest.  He was transported to the county jail and booked on his warrants.  The officers locked the business when they left.

The older female complainant said her house is for sale and a male came to the front door and inquired about the home.  She invited him inside and he asked to use the bathroom.  He entered the bathroom and locked the door.  When he exited the bathroom, he continued on the tour of the home.  After the male left, the victim discovered her prescription medication missing from her medicine cabinet.  She gave the officer a description of the suspect but the officer was unable to locate him.

Violation: Animal Control Event

An officer was dispatched on the report of a complainant who found an overheated dog in a car.  The temperature that day was very hot.  The complainant removed the dog from the car and placed him in the shade and was trying to cool it's temperature with water.  The animal had a very rapid shallow breath and did not appear to be conscious.  The complainant said he parked next to the vehicle with the dog and the dog barked.  He found an unlocked door and removed the dog.  He found some paperwork from a veterinarian in the car and removed it in an attempt to locate the owner.  The dog appeared to be in serious condition and was taken to the Everett Animal Shelter.  The officer was informed the dog had a very high temperature and may not survive.  The officer was unable to contact the owner but left a detailed message regarding the incident.

The 85 year old male victim said he discovered his debit card was missing from his wallet and he called his bank to have the card cancelled.  Several weeks later, his bank statement arrived in the mail.  The statement contained numerous charges amounting to $2,253.96 that he did not make.  He had suspect information which he gave to the officer.  The suspect had a brief window of opportunity to take his card from his wallet without his knowledge.

The female complainant went to the North Precinct to turn in an Apple IPhone she found abandoned on a park bench.  She turned the phone over to officers and requested to fill out a Found Property Rights Statement so she could claim the IPhone if the owner could not be located.  The phone valued at approximately $300.00 ws impounded in the property room.

The male victim had an airless paint sprayer for sale and had chained it to the iron fence in front of his house.  The chain had been cut and the $250.00 sprayer was missing.  He said he will watch the pawn shops for the sprayer as he can identify it if located.

A Transit employee was informed by landscapers that a pistol ws found in the bushes.  The responding officer located the small, black, rusty, semi-automatic pistol in the bushes.  The pistol was so rusty that the make, model, or serial number could not be identified.  The pistol was impounded by the officer.

The female victim told the responding officer she parked her car but forgot to lock the door.  When she returned, she found her wallet containing her driver's license, social security card, debit and credit cards, checkbook, Bluetooth, and an I-Pod were missing.  When she contacted her bank she learned the unknown suspect had already tried to use a debit card.  She was advised to do periodic credit checks on herself since her identification and social security cards were taken.

A loss prevention employee observed the 17 year old male suspect select a package of razors, remove the razors from the packaging, conceal the razors on his person, and exit the store without paying.  He was detained outside and returned inside.  The suspect gave a false partial name and birthday to the responding officer.  The juvenile agreed to speak with the officer.  He said he was going to the beach with some girls and wanted to have a clean shave for the day's escapades.  He then revealed his true identity and a warrant was located for his arrest.  He was transported to the youth center and booked.  His mother was informed of the situation.  Value of the razors was $15.97.

The female victim said she noticed an unauthorized purchase of $699.43 had been made on her debit account.  She contacted the business where the purchase was made and discovered the purchase was made by an ex-boyfriend.  She felt the boyfriend knew how to acquire her debit card information from her laptop.  She did not give him permission to use or access her bank accounts.  Her bank was informed not to allow any further transactions.

Violation: Auto Impound

While on patrol, an officer observed a vehicle in an alley.  The license plate returned as a stolen vehicle.  It appeared driveable and an attempt was made to contact the registered owner.  There was no answer so a message was left.  A tow truck was called and custody of the vehicle was released to the tow driver.

Violation: Theft/Shoplift

An officer responded to a report of a male suspect being physical with store loss prevention employees.  Upon arrival, the suspect was detained in the security office.  The suspect had selected a t-shirt, concealed it in his pants and left the store without paying.  When contacted outside the store, he cooperated at first but then attempted to flee and the struggle resulted.  The suspect admitted to the theft of the $7.50 "Speedy Gonzalez" t-shirt and asked if he could pay for the shirt even tho he had no money with him.  He also asked to clean the parking lot instead of the business pressing charges.  Loss prevention declined his requests.  The suspect advised he was out on bail for another charge and asked if he could bail out on this theft charge if he was already out on bail for something else.  He was transported to the county jail and booked for theft.  The t-shirt was returned.

A store employee said there were multiple people shopping in the store.  Once the store cleared of shoppers, the employee noticed a display cell phone had been stolen from a display rack.  The phone was valued at $280.00.

The female complainant reported the loss of her ORCA card while she was at the library.  She discovered her card missing when she tried to get on the bus to go home.  The card had not been turned in at the library or the transit center.  Value of the missing card is $68.00.

An officer was dispatched for the theft of a dog.  The female complainant said her small dog was stolen from the backyard.  The family left but returned several hours later and found that someone had pried a board from the fence and the dog was missing.  The officer found the fence to be sturdy and in good repair and fully enclosed the backyard.  The family contacted neighbors regarding the missing dog.

The male victim said prescription medications were taken from his parked vehicle.  He found his doors unlocked and Valium and Percoset pills were missing along with numerous CD's.  The officer was unable to confirm the suspect had a prescription for the medications or that they had been stolen.

Violation: Unlawful Camping

An officer observed a male suspect lying lengthwise across a sidewalk.  It appeared the man was sleeping as he was lying on his side with his head resting on the curb.  He was lying on a blanket.  The officer recognized the man from an unlawful camping contact earlier in the day.  The officer parked his patrol car and walked up to the suspect.  His eyes were closed and the officer was able to stand over him without him being aware of the officer's presence.  After several seconds, other subjects sitting on the sidewalk began to yell for the suspect to wake up or he would be in trouble.  He sat up and said he had not been sleeping.  He was arrested and booked into the county jail.

An officer responded for a complaint of a suspicious package onboard a train.  The officer located the item, a black nylon computer bag.  A laptop and other personal items were in the bag.  The officer contacted the victim regarding his lost property.

An officer contacted a male suspect after he was found passed out on the sidewalk outside a business.  An aid unit woke up the male who had been drinking.  He had no valid reason for being there.  He was trespassed from the property by the business manager.  He was advised he would be subject to arrest if he returned to the property.

The female victim said she got a money order to pay her rent.  Per agreement with the manager, she put the money order in a night box at the office.  The next day, she was informed she had not paid her rent.  She spoke with the manager and then with the business where she obtained the money order.  The money order had not been cashed and she prepared paperwork to verify she had paid for the money order.  The apartment manager was informed.

The female victim said she placed her purse under the passenger side front seat before going to a park.  When she returned to her car, the passenger side window was broken out and her purse was missing.  Her purse contained cash, identification and numerous credit cards.  Estimated cost to repair the window and value of the stolen items is approximately $350.00.
